Massage Therapy has become an important part of general healthcare for many people living in today's stressful world. Therapeutic massage can play an important role in treating illness or chronic ailments, and contributes to a higher sense of general well-being. For example, headaches can be caused by stress or poor posture. The use of massage therapy can relax and stretch muscles to relieve pain and stress. Massage can break the pain cycle and eliminate the original source of pain. It can relieve tight muscles, improve range of motion and alter pain sensations by relaxing affected muscles, decreasing spasms and increasing range of motion. Deep massage is reported as the most effective treatment for fibromyalgia, back pain, and arthritis. Massage is recognized as the most effective nondrug treatment for pain. Massage has been shown to be beneficial in treating injury, cancer and postoperative pain.

Therapeutic Massage provides benefits to all the major systems of the body. Increased circulation and decreased blood pressure are beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Decreased stress and anxiety promotes a healthier nervous and endocrine system. Improved lymph circulation boosts the immune system. Connective tissues allow increased joint movement and range of motion. Improved pulmonary function strenthens the respiratory system.

Pregnancy is a time in a woman's life when exptra pampering is deserved. Prenatal Massage offers many benefits such as reducing anxiety and stress; relieving muscle spasms, back pain, and sciatica; increasing blood and lymph circulation to support process of gestation;

alleviating stress on weight-bearing joints; and reducing edema (swelling) in feet and hands.

When we have a strong immune system, we are happy, balanced and whole. Lymphatic Drainage Massage provides relief from edema, an accumulation of fluids in the tissues that causes swelling and pain. Lymphedema has serious complications such as bacterial infections that can cause cellulitis. The condition causes stiffness and soreness of muscles. The lymph system's impact is so far reaching that many don't even realize that minor aches and pains, low energy or susceptiblity to colds and flu may be due to a sluggish lymph system. The beneficial effects of lymhatic massage include stimulation of the lymphatic circulation of immune cells, softening and minimizing scar tissue, improving circulation after surgeries, reducing pain and inflammation, reducing stress and tension and improving the overall condition of the body as a whole.
